Our vision
Your office keeps records of what a family owns. Mes gives its relationships the same care.
- A trustee texts the principal
- The principal reads it
- The chief of staff gets a screenshot
- They agree the wording by phone
- The principal types the reply
Hand off a thread and keep the keys
A delegate sees only the threads you grant. An agent drafts, and a person releases. The audit trail logs each draft, release and grant change, with who and when.
When someone leaves, revoke their access at once. The audit trail stays.

Every conversation, in one list
Mes keeps each thread on its own network and shows them together.
Find anyone by any name
A WhatsApp nickname also finds the iMessage thread.
Reply from iPhone or desktop
Both follow the messaging patterns you already use, so you don't have to relearn.
Photos and files, chat by chat
Each chat keeps its photos, files and audio by month.
Filter the texts Do Not Call lets through
FCC rules exempt campaign calls and texts from the Do Not Call registry. Write your own spam filter, and Mes moves them out of your inbox with no alert.
Make Mes fit your office
Point at any screen and describe a change, from a color to a new panel. Local AI on your Mac rebuilds the app and updates your phone and desktop.
A command line for people and agents
On the command line, both work under the same scoped access. The same audit trail shows who did what. Content filters read each draft and stop a blocked message before it sends.

Your own Mac, on premises or hosted by us
Each office has a dedicated Mac with concierge setup. Provide your own retail Mac or use one from us. Keep it on premises, or we host it in a facility. Either way, FileVault is on, we cannot access the Mac, and Mes runs no shared message server.

Questions
Where are messages stored?
On your dedicated Mac, with FileVault on. Mes runs no shared message server. Each network and Apple's push service still carry their own traffic, and the phone keeps a cache. Change requests run on local AI on your Mac.
Who can reach our messages?
Anyone who holds your Mac's login, the people the principal gives access to on their paired devices, and the local AI that handles change requests. Not us. We cannot access your Mac, on premises or in our facility: your office sets the login, and we hold no password, key or remote access. Support works without access to the Mac.
How are connections encrypted?
Your phone and desktop reach your Mac over an encrypted Iroh tunnel. The Mac opens no inbound TCP port, so it is invisible to port scanning. Tailscale is supported but not required for end-to-end encryption between your Mac and phones, and Mes is compatible with corporate VPNs. If no direct path is available, a relay passes traffic it cannot read. The relay can see device IDs, IP addresses and traffic timing. Between your Mac and each network, that network's own encryption applies.
How do devices connect?
Each device pairs once with a single-use secret. Your Mac opens the tunnel only to paired devices. Removing a device ends its access to your Mac.
Who else touches the system?
Each network, Apple's push service, the Iroh relay run by n0, and the facility for a hosted Mac. Apple's push service sees who sent a message and when, unless your office turns previews off. Mes runs no analytics.
How do updates work?
Automatic Mes updates are off. Your office screens each Mes update by hand before it installs, and source code review is available. A change request updates only your office's own apps.
What happens to our records?
You own your messages. They stay on your Mac with the audit trail, and you can export them at any time. When you leave, keep or erase a Mac on premises. We ship a hosted Mac to your office, still encrypted. We hold no recovery key, so we cannot restore a lost login. Mes is not a regulated archive.
Does Mes hold any certifications?
Not yet. SOC 2 is in progress.
Who do we contact about security?
Write to security@startmes.com. We complete your security questionnaire on request. Additional security features are available to discuss on request. Read about security.
How much does Mes cost?
We have not published pricing.
